FOW Connect İkinci Gününden Akılda Kalanlar! / Highlights of the Second Day of FOW Connect!
'

Geri bildirim, her zaman!

No Panic, Yes Liderlik!

İletişim planı her şeydir!

The second session of the webinar themed FOW Connect: Building Remote Working & Developing Teams organized by one of our business partners Expertera took place yesterday.

The guests of the second session were Aras Bilgen, Dorota Piotrowska and Christa Hurchalla. We have compiled for you some notes about the day in which we talked about the new world, the fiduciary principles of remote work culture and the methods of protecting the culture and its values.

In general, we see that many experts agree on the same point, within the same rules. Companies that manage to be clear, catch the spirit of unity and set the goals correctly are candidates to become the winners of the culture of remote work.

Have a good reading, practice and healthy days!

Be clear!

In the culture of remote work, you should keep in mind that your colleagues do not always see your face like in the office. The situations that you could easily explain with the assist of your gestures and mimics if you were in the office environment may not be understood in written language. To avoid this situation, always try to be clear. Make short sentences, simply express what you have to say. Instead of writing rows on chat programs all the time, focus on video and phone calls.

Stick to your social contract!

We can call the contract, which describes your way of doing business, your values, and rules, as a social contract. Just as you have values you have and a culture that you keep alive in the office environment, you should maintain the same even if you are remote. If taking responsibility is your most important value, don't delay the delivery period of a job just because you're at home. If you are on the management team, often remind this contract to your teammates. Keep the culture alive.

Always Give Feedback!

It is also very important to receive and give feedback, especially on such days when we are getting used to working from home. Do not hesitate to make statements that will improve each other and yourself and embrace them with courage. What are your weaknesses, what can you do better or what are you so good at that you can support your team in the culture of remote work?

Empower, authorize!

This is the period when you need to take and give the initiative.

Empower your employees, give them more authority. Monitor them without “putting them through the mill”. Learn about their opinions, ask what they need to make decisions. Support them with the right resources. Don't micromanage, don't be overly detailed and intrusive. If you think that you cannot receive sufficient performance, go down the source of the problem and find solutions.

Be transparent, trust!

All major organizations build their interactions on trust and goodwill. Because this nourishes and raises empathy, mutual understanding and commitment. Even if you cannot see each other with your team members with whom you take part in joint projects, trust them. Communicate transparently.

No Panic, Yes Leading!

Nowadays, there is information pollution everywhere, a high level of fear is in control of the environment and everyone can panic at any time and make wrong decisions. At this very moment, leaders have a vital role. Just like the panic, the cool face of leadership is contagious. Set minds at rest, give confidence, communicate frequently. Don't miss out on morning calls, evening closings, short phone calls during the day. Utter words that will demolish the panic and anxiety atmosphere.

The communication plan is everything!

It is very important to avoid the feeling of loneliness these days. Make sure that the time to come together as a team and go through works to be done is clear. Be inclusive, so that no one feels left out. Avoid judging. Draw the boundaries of non-verbal communication. Written language can sometimes lead to misunderstandings. Thus, what methods will be used for important interviews should be determined in advance. Don't fall into the trap of information silos, don't store information, share it. What time you will have meetings each day, what topics you will exchange correspondence with and what topics you will discuss via video call must be all clear. Accelerate the flow of information!
